Built around the receiver

Most transfer apps stop when the money is sent. We start there.

The person receiving decides what the money becomes and how soon they can use it. That is the whole point of sending it.

Spendable in minutes

Up to $500 of every transfer is available as soon as it clears to us, day or night. No waiting on banking hours in either country.

Worth more as a gift card

Take it as gift cards from a catalogue of hundreds of brands and get extra value on top of the transferred amount. Groceries, fuel, phone credit and more.

Rewards while it waits

Money left in the iPayMate wallet earns rewards every week, paid as cashback. Spend it when it suits, on a card or straight to a bank.

How it works

Sent at midnight, spent by breakfast

STEP 01

Fund by card, any time

Set the amount and destination, pay on your card. You see the exchange rate and our fee before anything moves. Banks closed? Does not matter.

STEP 02

They get pinged

The moment your payment clears to us, your recipient is notified that money is waiting, with the first $500 already available.

STEP 03

The wallet does the rest

Gift cards worth extra, a prepaid Visa, or hold for weekly rewards, all from the wallet. Or they pick a straight bank deposit instead, 7 to 10 days to major banks, 10 to 15 elsewhere.

Instant access, explained

Why the first $500 is instant and the rest takes up to three days

No mystery. International payments settle through central bank clearing on the sending side, which takes time. We make up to $500 of your transfer available straight away and the balance reaches the wallet once clearing completes, within 3 business days.

Money clears to iPayMateSending-side clearing completes

Transfers of $500 or under are available in full, in minutes. The cap is 500 CAD equivalent per transfer. Wallet settlement is typically within 3 business days; a direct-to-bank deposit takes the full amount in 7 to 10 days to major banks, 10 to 15 days to others.

What does it cost?

How do the gift cards work?
